My iPod Touch is "disabled iPod Connect to iTunes"?

I connected the iPod to your computer, open iTunes, I thought that everything would be well and I could go on my iPod, iTunes opens a dialog box saying it can not connect my iPod, because it requires a password, please enter your password and reconnect, the problem is there is no way I can put in my password because it is disabled. I know my password and everything, and I do not know why my ipod is doing this, please please help me my iPod is very important to me: (Forgot to mention, I have tried a soft reset and hard reset no joy.

to back up your music with "Sharepod" (download required, like google) and after the back-up, is the restore button in iTunes and click on it, after being restored should be OK, and then put music and stuff back in good luck!
